Computational neuroscience of decision making and memory
Research in the Murray Lab focuses on computational neuroscience to investigate the function and dynamics of neural circuits with a particular interest in higher cognitive functions such as decision making and working memory. To investigate these issues, we develop modeling, theoretical, and data-analytic approaches, in close collaboration with experimentalists. Computational modeling spans multiple levels of analysis --- from biophysical microcircuitry, to large-scale network dynamics, to task-optimized artificial neural networks --- and analyze neural and behavioral data from humans and animals.

Biography
Murray completed a PhD in Physics from Yale University, followed by postdoctoral research at New York University in the Center for Neural Science. He was primary faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine from 2015 to 2023, with secondary appointments in Physics and Neuroscience. His research is in the areas of computational neuroscience and computational psychiatry.
